1. Large-Cap Stocks

  • 🏦 Who are they? These are giant companies like Reliance, TCS, Infosys in India or Apple, Microsoft, Amazon globally.

  • 💰 Market Cap (India): ₹50,000 Cr and above

  • 💼 Traits: Stable, well-established, less risky.

  • 📈 Returns: Steady but moderate. Great for long-term security.

  • ⚖️ Risk: Low — these companies can usually handle economic ups and downs.


2. Mid-Cap Stocks

  • 📈 Who are they? Growing companies like Zomato, Max Healthcare in India or Pinterest, Dropbox globally.

  • 💰 Market Cap (India): ₹15,000 Cr – ₹50,000 Cr

  • 💼 Traits: Fast-growing, more agile, higher potential.

  • 📈 Returns: Higher than large-caps but with more ups and downs.

  • ⚖️ Risk: Moderate — you get growth, but it comes with bumps.


3. Small-Cap Stocks

  • 🚀 Who are they? Young and lesser-known companies — think of Tejas Networks, Brightcom in India or small tech startups globally.

  • 💰 Market Cap (India): Below ₹15,000 Cr

  • 💼 Traits: High growth potential, often undervalued.

  • 📈 Returns: Can skyrocket (or tank!) — very volatile.

  • ⚖️ Risk: High — ideal for experienced or risk-tolerant investors.
